At Roku, the Technical Operations team is the platform's first line of defense — a global, around-the-clock organization responsible for the health and stability of the Roku Channel and the systems that power it. With engineers across the US, Canada, Mexico, and India, TechOps monitors ad delivery, CDN infrastructure, live feeds, and content pipelines 24/7, triaging and resolving issues before they reach viewers. The team sits at the intersection of Engineering, Content Operations, Live Operations, and Advertising — owning escalation paths, SLA frameworks, and high-visibility launch support. Beyond incident response, TechOps invests in automation and tooling to reduce toil and scale with the platform. As Roku's ecosystem grows, we're building smarter operations to match. The platform never sleeps, and neither do we! What is the role? Roku is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join the Technical Operations team, responsible for the end-user experience of the Roku platform, including The Roku Channel (TRC). You will work as part of a global Technical Operations team with the unique opportunity to interact with many different aspects of Roku, including Live Operations, Advertising Operations, Editorial, Engineering, and Customer Support. In this role, you will support, troubleshoot, and triage issues relating to advertising on the Roku platform, with a particular focus on the AdTech space. You will prioritize issues for engineering resolution and facilitate clear communication to operational and business stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve day-to-day issues, and some data analysis work will be needed to support root cause investigations and operational decision-making. An understanding of Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) is desirable for success in this role. How will I use AI at Roku? At Roku, AI agents do most of the keystroke-level coding. Engineers act as the technical leads for those agents — setting context, planning work, verifying outputs, and recovering when the agent goes off course. We're embracing AI as a powerful tool to amplify human creativity, accelerate innovation, and deliver better results for our customers. Across teams, we're exploring how AI can enhance our work—and we're only looking for people who are curious, adaptable, and excited to grow alongside these technologies. If you are excited about working this way, we want to talk to you.
