We are currently hiring a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical services team! This is a 1.0 FTE, benefit eligible opportunity. Schedule works primarily 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM. Required call overnights, weekends and holidays. **Purpose of position** Incumbents in this position are responsible for the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with department and infection control policies. **Compensation & Benefits Information** The hourly wage for this opportunity is $22.67 to $34.00, with a median wage of $28.34. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Exercises judgment that influences the delivery of patient care through process and patient experience. Responds positively and readily to changing priorities and work assignments. Accurate and efficient work - Washes, disinfects and decontaminates surgical instruments and equipment according to policy. - Sorts, reassembles, wraps and places instruments in appropriate containers according to instrument cards and appropriate sterilization instructions, updates sets and methods of sterilization. - Inspects instruments for integrity, functionality and cleanliness before assembly in containers, wraps or peel pouches. - Maintains accurate instrument sterilization documentation. - Handles instruments, equipment and supplies to maintain their sterility and integrity. - Technical skills are performed to optimize processes, materials and time management. - Estimates supply usage for upcoming week and requests supplies to be ordered as needed in sterile processing area. - Maintains decontamination and instrument assembly area in an orderly and organized manner. - Competency in technology requirements - Demonstrates skill and proficiency with the use of all equipment and instrumentation. Adapts to new learning requirements for use of all new technology. Procedures and Policies - Follows all established policies, procedures, and safety initiatives. Protects and respects the confidentiality of personal health information. Active Engagement - Ensures timely completion of individual and department responsibilities and projects that meet department expectations including participating in unit/department meetings and activities. Positively supports and mentors the integration of new employees into work group.
