This position provides community-informed health education and prevention programs to underserved and limited-income populations, particularly along the U.S.-Mexico border. The Promotora recruits and educates community members, connects participants with local health resources, assists with grant-funded initiatives, and helps improve community health outcomes through outreach, education, and collaboration. Conduct and provide prevention education and resources or health education activities. Recruit and organize groups of individuals with limited income and/or from minority populations. Assists with coordinating and implementing grant-related programs. Refers program participants to various agencies and community resources. Distribute, collect and document program information, including outcomes using various methods such as surveys and assessments. Maintain working knowledge of health activities and issues in the US-Mexico border.
