# About TypeSafe TypeSafe is a frontier model lab. We build reliable and general AI systems to power economically valuable automation. Our mission is to usher in a new era of Transformative Artificial Intelligence (TAI): technology with the power to drive a societal shift on the scale of the agricultural and industrial revolutions. While others chase benchmarks and academic puzzles, we've been quietly rethinking the LLM stack from first principles — building a new kind of general frontier model designed for real-world reliability, decision-making, and autonomy in production. We're a small, fast-moving team from OpenAI, Google Brain, and Meta/FAIR, backed by top-tier investors. Since mid-2024, we've been engineering the foundation for what comes after the current "state-of-the-art" — a model that actually gets things done. # About the role We're looking for a product engineer who ships customer-facing product fast. You'll own features end-to-end — from prototype to production — turning our frontier models into polished, reliable products that customers love. You'll combine strong product sense, full-stack engineering, and a bias for shipping to define what our product experience feels like in the real world. Our tech stack is primarily Python. We also use TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS for frontend, with Kubernetes for orchestration. We empower developers to use any tooling they find helpful for getting their job done, including Claude Code and Cursor. ## What you'll do - Own product features end-to-end — from design and prototype to production — with craft and judgment - Build polished, reliable user interfaces on top of our frontier models - Rapidly prototype and iterate on new product ideas, shipping fast and learning from real usage - Partner closely with product, design, and customers to translate real-world needs into product improvements - Instrument, measure, and improve product quality, reliability, and performance - Contribute across the stack — frontend, backend, and infrastructure — wherever you can add the most leverage ## We are looking for people who - Are strong full-stack engineers (~2–7 yrs) with excellent product intuition - Have shipped customer-facing products and care deeply about craft and detail - Are scrappy and hacky, and thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces — taking satisfaction in finding creative solutions - Move fast without sacrificing quality - Have hands-on experience building with LLMs and understand their capabilities and limitations - Enjoy owning problems end-to-end and thinking beyond the code to how products are used in the real world # Life at TypeSafe We're a small, flat, close-knit team dedicated to real-world impact preparing the world for Transformative AI.
