## Overview This position is responsible for supporting the developmental needs of children birth through three years of age in a group setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: encouraging and participating with children in daily activities, supervising up to 7 children, following posted class schedule and lesson plans as well as classroom discipline practices as well as maintaining positive relations and communications with families, partnership agencies and program staff. Other duties will include preparation of activities and materials, and cleaning of classroom and equipment. The Assistant Teacher shall assume the lead classroom role when the Teacher is absent. ## Description Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Teacher is responsible for meeting the developmental needs of children birth to five years of age in a group setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervising, educating, and supporting students to help them accomplish learning benchmarks. Their duties include planning lessons that target specific skills and concepts, managing classroom behavior to keep all students engaged in the lesson and providing individual support and feedback for their students. ## Requirements **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:** 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Must have a minimum of 1 years program management experience, some social service and/or behavior management experience preferred. 3. CPR, AED, First Aid and O2 certification or acquire within 30 days of hire. 4. Must attend NEO within 30 days of hire. 5. Minimum of 6 months experience working in a licensed child care **PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:** 1. Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively with people and monitor property and activity 2. Must be able to lift and carry 35lbs 3. Must be able to bend and squat repetitively 4. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time 5. Must be able to perform light physical activity 6. Maintain a positive attitude and make the environment an encouraging experience for all 7. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** 1.
