**CLOSING DATE:** Open Until filled with Bi-weekly reviews **POSITION: Natural Resource Tech I/II/Senior** **SALARY:** $20.34 -26.26, per hour **REPORTS TO: Harvest Biologist** **LOCATION: Omak**, WA **Basic Functions:** This is a Non-Exempt position. Collection of fisheries data for research, monitor and evaluate projects within the Okanogan River Basin. The production and/or transport of flake ice for the fishing operation; transporting fresh or frozen fish to the tribal districts for distribution; rinse, vacuum, seal, and freeze salmon for long term storage. Clean and fillet salmon for long term care storage; operation, light maintenance and thorough cleaning of processing building and equipment, communicating with other staff and supervisors regarding fish processing and distribution.May also be asked to assist with the following; purse seine, beach seine and tangle net fishing, hatchery surplus activities, provide overnight and/or weekend security for tribal fishing equipment near Brewster, WA., conduct creel survey duties at the Chief Joseph Dam tailrace or other tribal fisheries. **BENIFITS**: We have excellent benefits including full Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k with employer contributions, Short-and Long- Term disability for Full-Time employees. Generous leave package includes paid holidays, sick leave, and annual leave for Full-Time and Part-Time employees. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** **Education and Training:** - **Natural Resource Technician I:** High School Diploma or GED and a satisfactory work history. - **Natural Resource Technician II:** Requires a High School Diploma or GED and 36months progressively responsible experience equivalent to the Technician I or equivalent level, related to wildlife, natural resource management or other closely related field. An Associate’s Degree in the applicable science will substitute for experience. (Must submit transcripts for credit). - **Natural Resource Technician Senior:** Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in wildlife, natural resources science, range or environmental science (must submit transcripts for credit) OR Associate’s Degree in the field of fish, wildlife, and/or natural resource management (must submit transcripts for credit) AND 24 months of experience at a Technician II and a satisfactory work performance review OR HS Diploma/GED AND 48 months combined education/experience demonstrating the ability to perform the functions of this position. - Requires a valid Driver’s License and be eligible for coverage under the Tribes’ vehicle insurance. May require a class B CDL. - Requires a clean driver’s record that qualifies for a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification card. - Requires a food handlers permit or able to obtain within 10 days of employment. - Requires a forklift operator license or obtain within 6 months of hire. - Requires a Washington State boat safety course within 90 days of hire. Must maintain license, certifications and insurance coverage through out duration of employment. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Requires the knowledge of harvesting salmonids with a purse seine. - Requires basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair. - Requires knowledge of computers for word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software for data entry and web browser for researching sampling equipment. - Requires the skill of attention to detail. - Requires experience using hand and power tools, and proper care and maintenance of tools. - Requires sufficient knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence. - Requires sufficient human relations skill to work productively and cooperatively with diverse teams, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers, and convey technical concepts. - Requires the ability to work with electrical and processing equipment and in around a walkin freezer, vacuum se…
