## Description The Medical Office Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining and completing billing documentation, and assisting patients in understanding their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities. Collects co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances in accordance with hosptial policy and daily cash reconciliation. Provides professional front-desk and phone support by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, routing calls appropriately, and assisting with other requests. Coordinates appointments and communicates with external partners as needed. Monitors patient flow and waiting areas to support efficient operations while remaining attentive to patient needs and conditions. Maintains strict confidentaility, demonstrates strong customer service skills, and handles high-volume, fast-paced environments with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to patient satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned by management to support clinic operations. ## Requirements **Education** - High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. **Experience** - Minimum of two(2) years of experience in receptionist, medical coding, or medical registration experience preferred. **Special Qualifications** - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with patients, providers, staff, and the public. - Working knowledge of medical terminology. - Proficient in the use of computers and standard office equipment. - Excellent reading, writing and oral communication skills. - Must be bondable. **Physical Demands** - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment. - Prolonged periods of sitting, with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
