**The opportunity:** The successful candidate will lead the Structural Group in the Water Division in Alberta South. The Structural Group is responsible for providing structural engineering and advisory services throughout southern Alberta. The Group focuses on supporting a variety of infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients such as Municipal, Federal and Provincial Governments and Indigenous Communities. As the Structural Group Manager, the successful candidate must be able to: (1) inspire team members to work collaboratively and deliver high quality outcomes for clients; (2) market the capabilities of the group to internal and external clients; (3) possess credible understanding of the technical requirements within the Group and the industry; (4) communicate effectively with multiple team members and clients; and (5) apply critical thinking to support team members in solving challenges. **What you’ll do:** - Managing a group of engineers and technologists to deliver technically excellent work with - exceptional service for clients. - Leading the group to deliver successful financial results. - Promoting staff development and career planning through coaching and mentoring of teammembers. - Identifying team needs and developing and recruiting to strengthen the team. - Drafting and executing annual business plans in line with Group and Division goals. - Managing and developing client relationships. - Developing and maintaining networks within the industry. - Leading the pursuit, strategy development, execution and review of proposals. - Managing projects, delivering successful outcomes for clients and achieving intended financial performance, budget and schedule metrics. - Preparing and reviewing technical reports, design briefs, design drawings and specifications. - Ensuring quality and accuracy of designs, reports, and studies in accordance with company policies and procedures. **Does this sound like you?** - Engineering Degree or an Engineering Technology Diploma. - Registered, or eligible for registration, with APEGA or ASET. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in project designing, engineering, and management. - Minimum of 5 years in a consulting environment. - Experience in: - Coaching and mentoring staff. - Resource management. - Business Development in both private and public sectors. - Project management and controls with a proven track record of client delivery and satisfaction, and financial success. - Liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants. - Managing staff including hiring, and performance reviews. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational skills. - Demonstrated leadership abilities. - Ability to travel within Canada. **Want more information?** - [Check out what a day at Associated Engineering looks like via LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/associated-engineering/life) - [Our Environmental, Social and Governance Report](https://www.ae.ca/latest-news/associated-publishes-inaugural-environmental-social-and-governance-report-highlighting-policies-ongoing-work-and-esg-achievements-and-activities-in-2024/) This posting is for an existing vacancy. *AE is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to apply.
