POSITION SUMMARY Machine Operator V is responsible for operating machinery in Lubbock, TX. Machine Operator V involves basic tasks related to machine operation and production support. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Ability to start and stop the machine safely without supervision. • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed). • Ability to place raw material or unfinished parts and remove finished parts from machine safely. • Monitor machine operation. • Check part quality with designated measurement instruments. • Understand when and how to stop machine safely. • Perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery, such as cleaning and lubrication. • Operate tools and machinery to aid the manufacturing process. • Perform periodic checks on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise. • Oversee the machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments to improve results. • Produce quality parts according to manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by the Plant Manager. • Record all machine actions and log completed parts for record keeping. • Keep a clean and orderly work area. • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager. • Read and understand drawings. • Ability to change machine Setting to accommodate different sizes and dimensions. • Must have a further understanding of thread dimensions and thread terminology. • Ability to guide Machine Operators with ongoing obstacles. • Understand Custom Pipe part number convention. • Mentor, support and train Machine Operators. • Knowledge and experience in different Machine Operator levels. • Ability to program and calibrate CNC in applicable areas. • Completely understands manufacturing cell, has operated all machines and understands all processes. • Manages the workflow and ensures quality in all operation. • Assists supervisor in day-to-day production needs. • Attends production meetings. • Report any all safety and quality issues. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED. - Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. - Willingness to work occasional rotating shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary. - Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new tasks quickly. - Strong attention to detail and quality orientation. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong ability to read, write and communicate effectively. - Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures (e.g. constant use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)). - Perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Manage and enforce PPE requirements - Ability to read, write and speak in English PREFERRED SKILLS • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility. • Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to facers, lathes, CNC’s, and other mechanical machinery. Physical • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, team lift • to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time. *Starting pay is negotiable and commensurate with demonstrated experience and expertise.
