Join our award-winning team and achieve your career goals with us! ## Description This opportunity will provide support in the EST time zone - Candidates will be scheduled to work 8:30-5pm EST. As a Loan Officer Assistant (LOA), you will provide dedicated support to an individual loan officer, or a team, throughout the mortgage loan process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from loan application through closing. The LOA is an extension of the team they support, so it is crucial that they maintain an excellent level of customer service and knowledge of the loan process throughout their interactions. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist the Loan Officer with reviewing loan applications for accuracy and completeness; promptly notify the Loan Officer of any missing or inaccurate information. - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the loan process by answering questions, providing next steps, and delivering weekly loan status updates to clients and real estate agents. The Loan Officer should be copied on all client communications. - Review, prepare, and submit qualified loan files to underwriting, including Certified Pre-Approval (TBD), purchase, refinance, and wholesale/brokered loan submissions. - Provide borrowers with initial documentation needs lists for Certified Pre-Approvals, purchase transactions, and refinances. - Complete income calculations, order automated and manual WVOEs, obtain AUS findings, run fraud reports (as applicable), and ensure all required pre-submission documentation is complete. - Complete all required LOA and Processing submission checklists prior to underwriting submission. - Monitor TBD and active loan pipelines daily, prioritize follow-up activities, and communicate critical updates to the Loan Officer, Processor, and other assigned team members. - Schedule and participate in weekly pipeline meetings with Loan Officer(s) and Processor(s) to review loan status, priorities, and outstanding items. - Assist Processors with collecting and satisfying borrower facing underwriting conditions. - Attend and actively participate in monthly Sales & Operations training sessions and LOA meetings to stay current on company policies, products, processes, and industry updates. - Develop and maintain proficiency in RWM's internal workflows, technology, and loan origination process. - Learn and apply basic Conventional, FHA, VA, and non-agency underwriting guidelines for qualification purposes. - Understand and adhere to all company compliance policies, investor guidelines, and applicable industry regulations. ## Requirements - Residential lending experience required - Minimum 2 years' experience in an upfront role such as loan assistant, loan partner or loan processor - Foundational understanding of government & conventional loan products - Down Payment Assistance loan program experience - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills - Active NMLS License preferred but not required - Experience with Encompass, Total Expert, nCino/Simple Nexus preferred - Experience with non-agency and nonQM programs is a plus - Experience with wholesale/brokered loans is a plus including HELOCs and Fixed 2nds
