Location: Lower Manhattan, NY Schedule: Various shifts - 24/7 facility Compensation: $25/hour **About DDCues** DDCues is a national risk management firm committed to protecting people, securing infrastructure, and defending the nation. Our services include on-site security staffing and threat assessment, investigations, due diligence and integrity monitoring, crisis management and emergency response, and interagency contract fulfillment. **The Role** We are seeking a licensed, unarmed security guard for a detail based in Lower Manhattan, NY. This is a professional, presence-based role designed to ensure the safety and security of staff, guests, and visitors, of the location. Duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned: - Inspect items, using x-ray viewing equipment, to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation - View images of bags and cargo, using remote screening equipment, and alert baggage screeners or handlers to any possible problems - Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel - Notify supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur - Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel - Send items through automated screening machines, and set bags aside for searching or rescreening as indicated by equipment - Inspect to identify potential hazards - Record information about any baggage that sets off alarms in monitoring equipment - Record information about suspicious objects - Contact leads or supervisors to discuss objects of concern that are not on prohibited object lists - Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel **Important:** Guards will not initiate physical contact with any individual unless acting in defense of themselves or others from bodily harm and will not pursue individuals who leave the property. **What We Offer** - Competitive pay starting at $25/hour - Consistent hours, different shifts available - Comprehensive onboarding and training - Career advancement opportunities within a growing firm - A supportive, team-oriented work environment **What We're Looking For** Valid New York State unarmed security guard license (required) - High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) - Strong work ethic - Exceptional attention to detail - Ability to self-manage - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in any one of the following or any combination of the following: i. A guard, watchman or police position; or ii. Service in the United States Military Services in a police or military security position; or iii. College credits from an accredited institution of higher learning in criminal justice, security or related fields at the equivalent rate of 32 credits per year **Other Related Attributes that would enhance hiring considerations** - Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone - Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field - Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies - A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch - Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service **Physical requirements and environment:** - Office environment with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected - Major activities include working on PC while sitting, telephone use - Physical effort is limited, to include some standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching - Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential funct…
