If you’re passionate about solving complex mechanical challenges and want to work with cutting-edge equipment in a collaborative, safety-first environment—this is your opportunity. **What You’ll Do** As an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic, you’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality service and solutions to our commercial customers. You’ll work on a variety of systems, from rooftop units to chillers, and help optimize facility performance. **Your responsibilities will include:** - Diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, fans, etc.) - Performing maintenance and replacements on mechanical systems - Troubleshooting advanced systems including centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon components - Conducting mechanical shaft alignment and vibration analysis - Installing complete HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure - Providing expert recommendations and quotes for system upgrades and repairs - Collaborating with apprentices and other mechanics to share knowledge and ensure top-tier service - Traveling 10–20% to support customer needs across the region - Prioritizing safety in every task **What We’re Looking For** We’re seeking skilled professionals with a strong mechanical background and a commitment to excellence. **Required qualifications:** - Minimum 3-5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience - Universal EPA refrigerant certification - Valid current driver’s license - Proficiency in mechanical alignment and vibration diagnostics - Ability to communicate clearly with customers and document service actions - Willingness to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices (UA) - Self-motivated, safety-focused, and eager to learn - Ability to pass a technical proficiency exam **What We Offer** - Competitive union wages and benefits - Company vehicle, tools, and uniforms provided - Factory training and certification through our Service Technical Academy - Career development and advancement opportunities - Incentive programs and recognition for outstanding performance - A supportive, fun, and results-driven team culture **Ready to Power Up Your Career?** Join Johnson Controls and be part of a team that’s building smarter, safer, and more sustainable environments. (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
