HHA- Home Health Aides- Home Care & Hospice

## Description The Home Health Aide is a member of the home health care team working under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or other professional team members. A Home Health Aide is a para-professional who provides personal care and related homemaking services to the sick, disabled, dependent or frail elderly. ## Requirements 1. Completion of seventy-five (75) hour approved home health aide certification program. 2. Satisfactory completion and demonstration of skills checklist. 3. Completion of home health aide competency examination with score of 80% or above. 4. Eighteen (18) years of age or older. 5. Ability to read and write English consistent with the recording requirements of the job. 6. Ability to carry out directions. 7. Ability to work independently. 8. Capable of moving, lifting or transferring a client without posing a danger to the client or him/herself using appropriate body mechanics.
