Instructor � Welding Great Bay Community College, Business & Training Center Position Type: Contract faculty Credits: Non-credit Reports To: Director of Workforce Development CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state. Position Summary Great Bay Community College seeks a qualified instructor to provide instruction to students in the diverse areas of welding, i.e. Oxy-Fuel, Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc, Flux Core, and Aluminum. Scope of Work Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills in an entry-level position or apprenticeship Assess the instructional requirements of students and provide orientation and instruction in welding technology career and technical education related competencies Ensures that industry standards are incorporated into the program Provides training in the proper use of tools and equipment related to the welding industry; instructs students in all related safety procedures and industry protocols Provides timely, constructive feedback on student work Evaluates student progress against the stated course objectives Maintains course records, grades, and attendance in accordance with college policy Communicates supply and equipment needs to program coordinator Maintains clean and orderly classroom and lab area Minimum Qualifications Minimum AS or AAS degree or industry relevant certification(s) such as journeyman or AWS credentials with a strong work history and demonstrated subject matter expertise. Professional designations or certifications in subject matter desired Knowledge and ability with code welding procedures and specifications Ability to read blueprints with a strong mathematics background Experience with fabrication, equipment, and other tools of trade Strong communication and classroom/lab facilitation skills with a focus on safety Application Process Submit an application online including: Cover letter describing relevant welding teaching or training experience Current resume or CV Contact information for two to three professional references Great Bay Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
