Environmental Services Technician

### **Job Summary** Boone Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented **Environmental Services Technician** to join our team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas, offices, public spaces, and other hospital departments while following infection prevention and safety standards. This position also assists with linen services, inventory, and equipment inspections to ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, works well independently and as part of a team, and is committed to providing exceptional service in a healthcare environment. ## Essential Functions As an Environmental Services Technician, you will: - Clean patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, laboratories, administrative offices, waiting areas, and public restrooms. - Launder hospital linens when assigned. - Collect soiled linens and distribute clean linens and hospital gowns throughout the hospital. - Make beds, empty trash, and restock essential supplies. - Clean and disinfect equipment, furniture, floors, and carpets using approved cleaning products. - Perform daily linen inventories throughout hospital departments. - Inspect cleaning equipment daily and report repair or replacement needs. - Report maintenance concerns to the appropriate supervisor. - Follow all hospital safety procedures and infection prevention protocols. ## Qualifications - Hospital or hotel housekeeping experience. preferred - Janitorial or commercial cleaning experience.preferred - Valid West Virginia Driver's License preferred. ## Skills and Competencies - Dependable and reliable. - Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic. - Able to work independently and as part of a team. - Committed to cleanliness, safety, and infection prevention. - Professional, courteous, and respectful of patients, visitors, and coworkers. ## Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: - Stand and walk for extended periods. - Lift up to **50 pounds** using proper lifting techniques. - Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and twist. - Perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. - Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals. - Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, safety glasses, respirators, and other protective equipment. ## Equal Opportunity Employer.
