The Clinical Pharmacist – Children's provides specialized pharmacy support within Cleveland Clinic Children's at Main Campus, with a primary focus on Pediatric Inpatient Pharmacy Operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate preparation, verification, and distribution of medications for hospitalized pediatric patients while supporting daily inpatient pharmacy operations. Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders, answering medication-related inquiries from clinical staff, collaborating closely with nursing and interdisciplinary care teams, and assisting with operational and clinical problem-solving throughout the shift. The pharmacist also serves as the secondary responder for pediatric code situations and may have opportunities to support infusion services based on departmental needs and individual interest. **A caregiver in this position will work variable weekday shifts based on departmental needs, including 6:30am–3:00pm, 7:00am–3:30pm, 7:30am–4:00pm, 8:00am–4:30pm, and 1:00pm–9:30pm. Caregivers participate in an every-eighth-weekend rotation, with weekend shifts typically scheduled 6:30am–3:00pm or 1:00pm–9:30pm, and work one rotating holiday each year.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. - Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. - Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. - Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. - Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. - Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. - Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy - Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire - For individuals required to administer immunizations,Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.
