Career Development Liaison JobID: 459 Position Type: Support Staff/Career Liaison Date Posted: 6/19/2026 Location: Grant County High School Additional Information: Show/Hide Grant County High School Career Development Liaison Qualifications: Employment Experience, relating to Public Relations (preferred) Associate's Degree or Higher Key Skills: networking, project management, communication, time management, organization Reports to: Associate Principal, Grant County High School Terms of Employment: 178 days, at least 145 while school is in session Grade: 9-12 Job Goals: Focus on the external partnerships and administrative "bridge-building" required to make career programs successful and provide post-secondary opportunities to students by: Managing all aspects of the work based learning program at GCHS Work directly with students on their individual career plans. Connect the school with local businesses, technical colleges, and community agencies. Job Purpose To serve as the primary communication link between the high school, community partners, and post-secondary institutions. The Liaison ensures that school programs align with real-world job requirements and that students have access to external opportunities like internships, co-ops, dual-enrollment (related to CTE), and industry certifications. Key Responsibilities Business & Community Partnerships: Identify and maintain relationships with local employers to secure job shadowing, internships, co-op placements, and guest speaker opportunities. Program Alignment: Work with Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers to ensure classroom instruction meets current industry standards and state compliance. Event Management: Coordinate large-scale events such as Post-Secondary Opportunities fairs and senior defense panels. Dual Enrollment & Transition Support: Facilitate the transition between high school and post-secondary education, as relates to CTE, by coordinating with admissions offices and helping students understand credit transfers. Outreach: Serve as a resource for parents and students to understand various "non-traditional" paths, such as apprenticeships, military service, and trade schools. Work Based Learning program: Provide reports on student progress in the program, communication with students, parents, employers, and teachers, travel to sites for evaluation of students within the program Professional Responsibilities Completes all records and reports accurately and on time Manages time wisely Is punctual and reports to work regularly Selects appropriate channels for resolving concerns and problems Implements the policies and procedures of the district; follows federal and state laws governing educational programs Interpersonal Relationships Gives and receives constructive criticism and praise appropriately Is accessible to staff Interacts frequently with the staff in a mutually respectful and friendly manner Is flexible, reasonable and cooperative Demonstrates professional courtesy Works cooperative with others Responds effectively to concerns Treats people fairly, equitably, and with dignity and respect Demonstrates appreciation for the sensitivity to the diversity in the school community.
