## Description • Job description: **Breast Sonographer at The Breast Center of Greensboro Imaging** **Applicant MUST have active ultrasound certification in (BR or BS) and be in good standing or must be willing to become certified within 90 days of employment.** **Description** The Sonographer provides quality care to patients undergoing Ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates full knowledge of Ultrasound procedures and equipment. **Duties and Responsibilities** - Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre and post procedure instructions, and verifying patient’s identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters. - Perform ultrasound exams using proper protocols and positioning techniques, transporting patients safely, verifying accuracy of orders and documenting patient information. - Document the patient’s exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system. - Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers. - Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications and societies. ## Requirements **Qualifications** **Education:** Associate’s Degree or Graduate of Radiology, Imaging or related educational program in Ultrasound Technology or Sonography **Experience: 1**+ years’ experience ultrasound technologist **Knowledge:** Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. **Skills:** Basic computer skills including Email and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System and PACS Systems. Use of Ultrasound equipment, disinfection unit and general office equipment. **Licensure/Certification:** Board Certified in Ultrasound Technology or Sonography; member in good standing with RDMS **Physical requirements:** Occasional lifting, carrying or pulling**.** Frequent or constant pulling motion. **Conditions of employment:** CPR Certification, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and all required Personal Protective Equipment.
