Veterinary Assistant We are seeking a full time Veterinary Assistant to add to our amazing team. At Big Lick Vet, we believe in treating every patient as if they were our own pet, and giving them the same loving attention and care. We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to practicing progressive veterinary medicine and we pride ourselves on the level of care and compassion we provide to both our clients and patients. We're looking for someone to join our team who will share in our commitment to delivering exceptional service and the highest quality care in a client and patient friendly environment. Compensation will vary depending on experience and skill. The Veterinary Assistant provides essential support to the veterinarian during outpatient exams and throughout the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They care for all patients, assist with medical procedures, and help ensure each patient receives high-quality, compassionate care. In this role, the Veterinary Assistant also serves as a key connection between the veterinarian and clients. Through exceptional service and communication, the Veterinary Assistant helps build trust and foster lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Required Skills: Efficiency and organization Ability to take a thorough medical history and relay that history in a concise but thorough manner Comfort working in an environment where exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other biological materials is common Effective client communication and education (excellent written and verbal skills) Maintain clean and safe facilities Contribute to team meetings, attend team events, and provide input into challenges. Answering phones and assist front desk staff when needed. Proper maintenance of medical records Ability to lift 50lbs Client communication and education (excellent written and verbal skills) Abilities that are a plus (but we will train you if you haven't quite learned yet)!
