## Overview **About the Position:** This position is located at Naval Health Clinic New England, Newport, Rhode Island. Naval Station Newport (NAVSTA Newport) is a United States Navy base located in the city of Newport and the town of Middletown, Rhode Island. Naval Station Newport is home to the Naval War College and the Naval Justice School. It once was the homeport for Cruiser Destroyer Force Atlantic (COMCRUDESLANT), which relocated to Naval Station Norfolk in the early 1970s. In 1989 the base was added to the National Priorities List, after contamination had been discovered years earlier. Newport now maintains inactive ships at its pier facilities, along with the United States Coast Guard and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research vessels. In 2005 NAVSTA Newport gained over five hundred billets, in addition to receiving, again, the Officer Candidate School (OCS), the Naval Supply Corps School (in 2011), and several other activities, to include a few Army Reserve units. As of 2022 Naval Station Newport, encompasses 1,063 acres on the west coast of Aquidneck Island in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Middletown, Rhode Island, and Newport, Rhode Island. The Base also encompasses the northern third of Gould Island (Rhode Island) in the Town of Jamestown, RI. For more information, please visit the following link: https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/benefits/ **- A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.- Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.- Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.- This is a Direct Hire Solicitation** **\*Salary: $101,375 - $131,790 per year\*** ## Responsibilities - Administers health care services in an outpatient setting in compliance with state and federal regulations and meets professional standards, including BUMED policies, and the requirements of designated regulatory agencies. - Evaluates patients with acute/minor and chronic illnesses, providing compassionate, competent care and follow-up. - Makes appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical exams, and appropriate laboratory and ancillary studies, as indicated. - Prescribes approved medications and other therapeutic agents. - Assesses individuals and develops a care plan based on physical and psycho-social status and on the needs of the patient. - Orders appropriate ancillary services, such as radiographs, electrocardiograms (EKGs),and other procedures. - Performs Other Duties as Assigned ## Qualifications **Who May Apply: US Citizens**In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.
