**π** **Assessment & Referral Clinician** **π** **πΌ** **Full-time |** **π₯** **Psychiatry |** **β°** **12 hour shift |** **π** **Springfield, MO 65803** π **The Assessment & Referral Clinician (A&R Clinician) is required to handle a high volume of public and professional inquiries, schedule and conduct intake appointments, conduct follow-up calls, track calls and assessments and admissions. Update bed boards, assessment boards and use a multi-line telephone system. Work is performed in a team setting, as well as on an individual basis and is performed under the supervision of the Director of Intake.** **π¬** The A&R Clinician is responsible for coordinating and communicating with patients, families and referral sources on a daily basis. Customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate is imperative. **β¨** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. πΉ Conducts intake interviews to establish and assess for appropriate level of care. π Receives incoming inquiry calls and conducts an initial intake screening to establish viability for services. π€ Serves as client liaison, providing accurate, complete interviews of patient needs and making appropriate referrals (i.e., free initial consultation, direct admission or outpatient referrals). π Accurately and appropriately assesses the psychosocial and emotional status utilizing knowledge and skills related to children, adolescents, adults and the special needs of the geriatric population. π’ Serves as liaison to business office/utilization review; coordinates insurance verification with business office/utilization review departments. π Coordinates communications and activities between clinical staff, nursing staff, business office and business development staff. π Monitors direct/indirect referrals; follows up with professional or agency referral sources regarding patient disposition. π Documents, collects and organizes data resulting from inquiry calls to assist with referral development. π§© Utilizes a logical approach to solve problems and manage situations in a positive manner. π¨ Participates in hospital programs designed to ensure patient safety, i.e., fire drills, Code 1, etc. π‘ Expresses ideas and concerns in a constructive manner. π£ Appropriately notifies supervisor of essential information. π§ Utilizes the proper defined channels of communication and lines of authority. π Provides oral and written communication that reflects clarity and accuracy. π₯ Maintains an open line of communication with physicians and staff throughout the hospital, to support facility goals and to facilitate the delivery of patient care. π Works and interacts with others to accomplish overall hospital and departmental goals. π Treats peers with respect and dignity. π§ Handles patient/family complaints appropriately and according to policy. π οΈ Assists in all areas of department as needed. β
