**Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) envisions a world where children are safe, families are strong, and communities are vibrant.** LSF is seeking a talented **Youth Transportation Coordinator** who wants to make an impact in the lives of others. **Purpose and Impact:** The Youth Transportation Coordinator will ensure safe and secure transport for all the youth in this program as they attend all necessary appointments. The YTC is responsible for escorting and transferring physical custody of Unaccompanied Children (UC) from the assigned emergency shelter to another Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) shelter or a sponsor. The YTC is required to maintain a flexible, organized and efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours, weekends and be on-call. This is a direct service delivery position. **Essential Functions:** - Transferring physical custody of Unaccompanied Children from the assigned emergency shelter to another ORR shelter or to a sponsor via ground or air transportation. - Provide direct supervision of Unaccompanied Children in-transit, and maintain line-of-sight supervision at all times - Maintain current training requirements in accordance with ORR policies and procedures for direct care standards - Seek or coordinate medical care if Unaccompanied Child(ren) becomes ill while in transit - Provide meals or snacks to Unaccompanied Child(ren) while in transit - Retain and transmit the Unaccompanied Child(ren)’s transport documents, personal property, and prescription medication - Verify the identity of the sponsor prior to the sponsor taking physical custody of the Unaccompanied Child(ren) - Able to drive either 12 to 15 passenger vehicles, mini-vans, or cars - Must be able to sit or stand for long periods - Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned - Will be required to attend training for Defensive Driving, State specific Food Handlers certification, First Aid/CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) **Education:** Associate’s Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate’s degree) **Experience:** - Two years documented experience in a field related to human services or a similar occupational area - Experience working with at-risk youth **Skills:** - Basic computer skills - **Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required** - Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) **Why work for LSF?** LSF offers 60 programs across the state of Florida serving a wide range of populations in need. **Mission Driven** staff members become part of the LSF community while **transforming the lives of those in need.** Our staff additionally find **growth opportunities** as they explore areas of interest within the organization. **Amazing benefits package including:** - Medical, Dental and Vision - Telehealth (24/7 online access to Doctors) - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Employer paid life insurance (1X salary) - 13 paid holidays + 1 floating holiday - Generous PTO policy (starting at 16 working days a year) - Note: Head Start employees paid time off and holiday schedule may differ - 403(b) Retirement plan with 3% discretionary employer match OR 3% student loan repayment reimbursement - Tuition reimbursement ***LSF is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.*** *Lutheran Services Florida is mandated to perform background screenings for employment in accordance with the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as outlined in Section 435.12, Florida Statutes.
