Yard Driver Non DOT

We have experience helping a diverse client base in warehousing services, transportation management, supply chain management, order fulfillment and labor needs. **Summary** The Yard Driver (NON-DOT) is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers in and out of dock doors, staging trailers in the yard, and supporting warehouse operations. This is **not a DOT-regulated driving position** and does **not** require a CDL. The ideal candidate has yard-hostling or warehouse-transport experience and can work both independently and within a team environment. **Job Duties & Responsibilities** - Adhere to all company safety rules and procedures. - Operate yard truck/spotter truck to move trailers to and from dock doors. - Perform basic preventative maintenance checks on the yard truck. - Inspect trailers and loads in the yard and on the dock as needed. - Perform basic, non-mechanic level repairs (e.g., replacing gladhand seals, minor adjustments). - Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required. - Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and over-the-road drivers. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard. - Support continuous dock/yard flow by ensuring timely trailer movement. - Carry out good housekeeping practices. - Demonstrate professionalism, positive attitude, and strong communication skills. - Perform additional duties as assigned by management. **Safety Responsibilities** - Observe and follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies. - Support management in promoting safe operating procedures and standards. - Maintain records of safety incidents as required. - Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse/yard environment. **Minimum Qualifications** - Prior yard driver/yard jockey/spotter experience preferred (NON-DOT). - SAFE and competent operation of a yard truck. - Strong understanding of warehouse and yard safety practices. - Ability to work with minimal supervision. - Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. - Ability to communicate clearly with drivers and warehouse staff. - Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing work environments. - Must meet company driving requirements (clean MVR per company standards for NON-DOT roles). - Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing in/out of tractor, walking the yard, and handling trailer connections. **Xpedient** **Logistics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.** **Xpedient** **offers competitive wages, insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision and life), paid time off and holidays.**
