Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician Woodlake Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time licensed veterinary technician to join our AAHA accredited and Feline Friendly hospital. Join our team in providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care for pets and their families! The best candidates will possess a positive attitude, the ability to work both independently and as a part of our team and have a strong knowledge base in the field of veterinary medicine. The practice is open from 7:30 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. Benefits include : Group Health insurance policy, Paid time off, CE budget, Professional license reimbursement, Uniform budget, 401(k) retirement plan, Discounted staff pet care, Limited weekend responsibilities. 4 day Work Week Duties to include : Properly maintain and operate all instruments used in the hospital. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary working environment throughout the entire hospital. Take accurate patient histories from clients and communicate well with clients and staff Perform or assist in diagnostic procedures including blood work, radiographs, urine and ear cytology and anesthesia monitoring. Catheter placements and blood draws; Both at multiple access points (cephalic, saphenous, jugular) Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations Medication calculation, preparation, and administration (IV,IM,SQ,PO) Proper animal restraint Obtain digital radiographs -including dental Other duties as assigned Familiarity With: Canine and feline animal husbandry Vaccination protocols Cleaning, polishing, and charting teeth for periodontal procedures Knowledge of normal patient parameters. Must be conscientious of personal safety and the safety of those around them. Must work well in a team environment and promote a positive team culture. Must be able to communicate and work well with other team members. Must be able to maintain good client communications, especially during difficult and stressful times. To be considered for this position, applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold a Virginia RVT license in good standing within 30 days of being offered the position.
