**P** **OSITION SUMMARY:** Under the direction of the Executive Director of Child Care, the School Age Multi-Site Director is responsible for the daily operations of the YMCA School Age Program. The Site Director holds primary responsibility for the education, health, welfare and safety of the children enrolled in School Age child care programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA is conveyed. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** 1. Prepare the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Director of Child Care for the School Age program and be accountable for the program expenses. Maintain attendance ledgers for the program and work in cooperation with the child care accounting clerk in following up with outstanding balances, if applicable. 2. Administer meal planning and the CACFP program. Submit all paperwork to the Executive Director of Child Care on a monthly basis. Purchase all snack supplies, turning in receipts immediately following purchase with approved purchase order. 3. Establish goals and unit objectives for the School Age Program that are consistent with those of the YMCA and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Create, prepare for, and implement program lesson plans to ensure grant objectives are being met. Obtained and prepare necessary supplies in advance. 4. Coordinate, plan and execute the program and curricula for the School Age program with the staff assuring that the program provided meets the highest quality standards. Complete monthly reporting on the program operations and quarterly reporting as required. 5. Recruit, hire, train, supervise and appraise work of the School Age teaching and support staff. Perform supervisory functions for all departmental staff including the development of job descriptions, standards of performance and performance appraisals according to YMCA Personnel Policies. Maintain the staff files for the department. Assure that staff have fulfilled their training obligations. Designate a staff person who is responsible for compliance in the Director’s absence. 6. Facilitates communication and provides leadership; models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. 7. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 8. Give personal attention and supervision to every aspect of the Child Care operation. Effectively communicate with parents, verbally and in writing, on a daily basis. 9. Develop and implement a marketing plan for the School Age program. 10. Interview prospective parents and children for the School Age programs. All registrations will be completed and kept on file. 11. Develop strong parent participation and community involvement in the program, working with the supporting schools, advisory committee and parent organizations. 12.Monitor city and state day care activities and keep abreast of current trends in this field. 13. Work closely with other YMCA Department Heads and the staff team. 14.Attend staff meetings and in-service workshops to meet additional educational requirements established by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. The Site Director must attend 30 training hours within each licensing period of the child care site.15 training hours must be obtained in the first 6 months of employment. 15.
