**Nursing Assistant Certified** **Full Time-Permanent (Swing)** **Spokane Veterans Home** Help us continue to fulfill our mission of "Serving Those Who Served" by providing essential quality of life care for our Veterans! We are now accepting applications for a **Nursing Assistant Certified** at the Spokane Veterans Home! **Homes 24/7 facility differential:** *Updated as of July 1, 2025: This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.* *\*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules. In addition, we provide critical community services through a variety of programs, and at our four State Veterans Homes located in Orting, Port Orchard, Spokane, and Walla Walla. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star. As a **Nursing Assistant Certified**, you'll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care. You'll have the ability to lend direction and a caring attitude to your patients. You will also assist and monitor assigned residents with activities of daily living based on current nursing standards of practice and with a heart for our mission. If you want to make a difference in the lives of our veterans and their families, then we encourage you to join our team by applying now! **Some of what you'll be doing includes:** - Assist residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensure a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods. - Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes. - Record care, vital signs and observations. - Assist residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc. - Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed. - Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake/output records. - Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc. - And more! **Required Qualifications** **:** - Current and valid Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification. - Current active status on OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) check - Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English. - High School graduation OR GED - At least 6 six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting or six months experience involving direct patient care *A combination of education and experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.
