**Fiscal Analyst 4** **Full-Time - Project** **Olympia Central Office** The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is seeking a Payroll **Fiscal Analyst 4.** In this role, you'll coordinate payroll activities, support payroll reviews and audits, ensure payroll expenditures are processed correctly, and prepare payroll reports for taxes, benefits, and management reporting. As back up to the Payroll Supervisor, this position prepares all required payroll reports for taxes and benefits and develops payroll management reports for effective accounting and management practices. This salary range reflects increases effective July 1st, 2026. **Please note:** This is a project position with an expected end date of **June 30th, 2028.** Standard business hours for this position are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday in-office at our Central Office in Olympia. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star. Some of what you'll do: - Serve as the Senior Lead and primary assistant to the Fiscal Analyst 5 Payroll Supervisor, sometimes acting as a backup. - Audit payroll processor HRMS entries for new hires, rehires, internal and external appointment changes/transfers, and separations. - Validate payroll results prior to day three payroll close and ensure accurate processing in a timely manner. - Assist with review and analysis of HRMS payroll results and reports. This includes analysis and reporting of overtime and leave usage to assist managers in addressing potential issues. - Help to ensure payroll processes align with RCWs, Civil Service Rules (WAC 357), and bargaining agreements related to employee time accounting and compensation. - Collaborate with Manager in providing training and act as lead for one Fiscal Analyst 3 and two Fiscal Analyst 2 positions performing payroll processing and benefit activities. - Assist FA5 Supervisor to establish training plans for payroll employees to ensure they are trained to effectively perform their duties. Ensure execution of those training plans to guarantee staff are trained promptly and effectively. - Support Manager with training Fiscal Analyst 3 to reconcile the agency payroll revolving fund (035) monthly, review the work performed by staff, and ensure all reconciling items are resolved timely.
