Join us. ## Job Description **AECOM** is seeking a motivated and experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our expanding water engineering practice in the **Richmond, VA** region. The selected candidate will become part of an established water engineering practice working on prominent water/wastewater treatment and wet weather programs, sewer collection, potable water distribution and storage, and pumping station projects in the region and throughout Virginia. **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** - Help execute engineering design projects for water/wastewater infrastructure systems including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping. - Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings. - Work under supervision of a project manager in the water/wastewater practice or senior level team members. - Utilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems. - Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses. - Perform work with increasing responsibility. - Propose approaches to solve new problems. - Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks. - Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. - Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. - Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction. - Providing construction support for review of shop drawings, request for information, and site visits to the construction. ## Qualifications **Minimum Requirements** - BS Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related degree and 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. - Proven experience with engineering design projects for water/wastewater infrastructure systems including treatment, collection, distribution, pumping and storage. **Preferred Qualifications** - Engineering in Training. - Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction permitting regulations for water/wastewater systems. - Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and hydraulic models). - Demonstrated time management skills, work ethic, and attention to detail. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers, and project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products. - Ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives. - Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential as well as…
