At Bermex, we are always looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working independently and love the outdoors to become a part of our team. **About the Role** The Water Meter Installer reports to the Smart Meter Deployment Operations Manager at Bermex. This position plays a key role in water meter maintenance and measurement. This position also requires a high degree of walking in outdoor environmental conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional flexibility day to day. **What You'll Do** Water Meter Maintenance: - Perform visual inspections of water service for leaks - Identify hazards at meter sites and report accordingly - Properly change out water meters of varying sizes and brands - Properly change out water meter registers for AMI/AMR upgrade Water Meter Reading: - Read water meters - Enter data collected in the field into a handheld computer - Assist on additional projects, as necessary Customer Communication: - Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities - Provide general information about the meter services to customers, when applicable - Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate Other duties as assigned. **About You** · **Must haves**: · Education: Some high school education, must be 18 years of age or older · Experience: 1 year experience working in outdoor conditions. Employees will be trained in meter reading. Must possess a valid driver’s license Nice to Have: - Education: High School Diploma or GED - Experience: 1 or more years of experience in the direct exchange of water meters and registers of varying sizes; 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working Your Skills: - Ability to multi-task, and work independently and as a team - Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling.
