## Description # Overview: We are seeking a Warehouse Optimization & Slotting Manager to own and continuously improve storage, slotting, and material flow across our distribution network. This role will be the single point of ownership for slotting strategy, leveraging advanced analytics and FORTNA OptiSlot to drive measurable improvements in pick productivity, replenishment efficiency, space utilization, and throughput. This is a hands-on, highly analytical role focused on turning data into executable changes on the warehouse floor. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, partnering cross-functionally, and translating complex optimization outputs into practical operational decisions. **Slotting & Storage Optimization** - Own the end-to-end slotting strategy across all pick areas (each, case, pallet, flow rack, bulk, etc.) - Lead implementation and ongoing use of FORTNA OptiSlot, including: - - Data validation and model configuration - Scenario modeling and what-if analysis - Translating recommendations into executable move lists - Continuously optimize SKU placement based on: - - Velocity (DOH, lines, quantity) - Cube, weight, and handling constraints - Replenishment frequency and labor impact - Seasonal and promotional demand patterns **** **Productivity & Capacity Improvement** - Drive measurable improvements in: - - Pick rates - Replenishment labor - Travel distance - Storage density and capacity utilization - Identify and quantify bottlenecks related to slotting, storage methods, and material flow - Partner with Operations to sequence and execute slotting moves with minimal disruption **** **Data, Analytics & Tool Ownership** - Serve as the subject-matter expert for slotting data and optimization tools - Build and maintain analytical models using: - - WMS data - SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools - Validate inputs such as item dimensions, velocity profiles, and storage rules - Develop standardized metrics and dashboards to track optimization impact over time **** **Cross-Functional Collaboration** - Partner closely with: - - Operations leaders - Industrial Engineering - Automation & Controls - IT / WMS teams - Procurement and Merchandising - Support new initiatives such as: - - Automation or system expansions - Changes in pick methodology - New product introductions - Volume growth planning **** **Governance & Continuous Improvement** - Establish slotting standards, rules, and governance processes - Define triggers for re-slotting events (growth, seasonality, SKU mix changes) - Create documentation and best practices to ensure sustainability - Train and support internal stakeholders on slotting concepts and decisions **Requirements:** - Must be able to multi-task and work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team. - Proven hands-on experience with slotting software (FORTNA OptiSlot strongly preferred) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel (pivot tables, modeling) and Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) - Deep understanding of warehouse operations, including pick methodologies, replenishment strategies and storage systems (flow rack, selective rack, bulk, etc.) - Must be willing to travel to all Baldor locations **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in high-volume, multi-temperature, or multi-facility distribution environments - Familiarity with WMS data structures, labor standards and time studies and automation interfaces (conveyors, pick-to-light, GTP systems) - Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences - Self-starter who can operate with minimal direction and high accountability **Education and Experience:** - Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in warehouse optimization, slotting, industrial engineering or supply chain analytics **Work Environment:** - Normal warehouse conditions.
