This role is essential in overseeing critical functions such as shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The position demands a unique combination of leadership qualities and hands-on participation, ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently and effectively. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading a team across two shifts, maintaining accountability, meeting daily goals, upholding quality standards, and leading continuous process improvements within the warehouse and cross-functionally. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational excellence, requiring a professional who can adeptly balance strategic oversight with practical involvement in daily warehouse activities. **Work Environment: University Park, IL Onsite M-F** **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of goods. - Manage and supervise the shipping and receiving functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments. - Track, coordinate, and ensure efficient handling of all shipments and deliveries, maintaining accurate records. - Implement and maintain quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing goods. - Manage the warehouse staff, ensuring effective operation, employee performance, and development, including training in shipping and receiving protocols. - Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout for efficient shipping and receiving operations, including rebalancing fast moving and slow-moving inventory. - Ensure transactional excellence. - Collaborate with the Supply Chain Director to align warehouse activities with broader supply chain objectives. - Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment. - Analyze and improve warehouse processes and systems for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness. - Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely supply and movement of materials and finished products. - Other duties as assigned. **Critical Competencies for Success:** - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - 3-5 years of experience in management within a warehouse setting. - A proven track record of process improvement and change management. - Organizational agility. - Proven experience in warehouse management, with a strong focus on shipping and receiving operations. - Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of directing a diverse team and liaising effectively with other departments. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple functions within the warehouse. - Knowledge of best practices in warehouse logistics, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution. - Proficiency in warehouse management systems and software releva…
