***“This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)”*** **Volleyball First Assistant Coach** **Salary Range:** $85,000 – $105,000 (USD) Annually **Position Summary** The Volleyball First Assistant Coach serves as a key leader within a nationally competitive NCAA Division I volleyball program, partnering with the Head Coach to advance competitive excellence, student-athlete development, and program success. This position plays a critical role in all facets of the program, including elite coaching, strategic recruiting, player development, operations, compliance, and program administration. The Assistant Coach is entrusted with fostering an environment that promotes athletic achievement, academic excellence, leadership, and character development while ensuring the highest standards of integrity and NCAA compliance. As a visible representative of the Air Force Academy, the Assistant Coach is expected to cultivate meaningful relationships with prospective student-athletes, alumni, campus partners, and external stakeholders, helping strengthen the program's reputation at the conference and national levels. This position requires exceptional leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to make meaningful contributions to the long-term growth, culture, and competitive success of the Cadet Athlete. **Key Responsibilities** **Leadership & Coaching** - Partner with the Head Coach in developing and executing the strategic vision for a nationally competitive NCAA Division I volleyball program. - Deliver high-level technical instruction, tactical development, and position-specific training that maximizes student-athlete performance and long-term growth. - Evaluate individual and team performance using advanced technical, statistical, and biomechanical analysis to inform coaching decisions. - Assist in designing and implementing comprehensive practice plans that align with program objectives and competitive goals. - Develop instructional resources, training materials, and performance guides that support year-round athlete development. **Recruiting & Talent Acquisition** - Lead and support all phases of the recruiting process, including talent identification, evaluation, relationship building, campus visits, and recruitment strategy. - Build and sustain relationships with high school coaches, club programs, and national volleyball organizations to enhance the Academy's recruiting pipeline and national visibility. - Utilize recruiting analytics and data management systems to support informed roster-building decisions and long-term program planning. - Ensure all recruiting activities adhere to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. **Student-Athlete Development** - Champion the academic success, personal growth, leadership development, and overall well-being of student-athletes. - Monitor academic progress and eligibility while collaborating with campus support services to promote holistic student success. - Uphold the highest standards of conduct, professionalism, and accountability among student-athletes and support staff in all Academy-related activities, including travel and competition. **Program Administration & Operations** - Contribute to the strategic planning, operational management, and continuous improvement of the volleyball program. - Maintain compliance with all NCAA, conference, institutional, state, and federal requirements, recognizing the significant responsibility associated with regulatory oversight. - Assist with budget management, equipment oversight, travel coordination, fundraising initiatives, alumni engagement, and special events. - Represent the volleyball program through media appearances, community outreach, and university engagement opportunities. - Maintain comprehensive records, reports, and program documentation to support operational excellence and compliance. **Qualifications** Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and the certific…
