The successful candidate will inspire students through vocal music instruction, performance opportunities, and creative drama experiences. This teacher will direct multiple grade-level choirs and an auditioned show choir while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-energy classroom and performance culture. Primary Responsibilities Teach vocal music and choir courses for grades 6, 7, and 8 Direct and develop an auditioned 6-8 show choir program Teach creative drama courses aligned to middle school fine arts standards Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in vocal music and drama Develop student vocal technique, music literacy, performance skills, and stage presence Select appropriate and diverse choral repertoire Organize and direct concerts, performances, and school and community events Coordinate rehearsals, performance schedules and performance needs Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth Differentiate instruction to meet varied student skill levels and needs Collaborate with fine arts colleagues and school staff to support schoolwide goals Communicate effectively with families, students, and administration Maintain classroom structures that support a positive and productive learning environment Support and grow student participation in the choral and performing arts program Qualifications Valid Indiana teaching license in Vocal Music grades 6-8.
