. Veterinary Assistant Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30AM–6:00 PM, with a day off each week. Saturday shifts are 7:30 AM–12:00 PM and required. If you're scheduled for a Saturday, you'll also receive an additional day during the week in addition to your regular day off. Continuing education opportunities for our licensed technicians to grow and thrive in their careers Key Responsibilities: Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures Provide safe handling and restraint of patients Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare samples as directed Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment Accurately update patient records and support client communication Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment Requirements: Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting strongly preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Compassionate and attentive to patient needs Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods About Us Newport Veterinary Hospital is a fast-growing veterinary hospital known for its supportive culture, strong team values, and commitment to both patient care and staff development.
