Veterinary Student Programs - General Application

At Heart + Paw, we’re fully dedicated to helping veterinary students like you realize your dreams of becoming a veterinarian and practicing successful, high-quality medicine. That’s why we offer hands-on training with skilled veterinarians who have grown their client base and developed a reputation for excellence. With the support of experienced Heart + Paw veterinarians who will share their knowledge and help you grow into your role, you will accomplish so much more than you ever imagined. Externships: Heart + Paw offers externship opportunities at many of our 28 (and counting) locations and can customize your externship to your interests, skills that you would like to develop, and geographic preferences. We offer 1 to 3-week hands-on externships that can extend beyond that if you desire. We will work with you to determine your learning objectives and preferences, creating a meaningful learning experience. Summer Jobs: Build your resume with our hands-on, 4- to 6-week summer job opportunities. You will work on the floor as a veterinary assistant part-time or full-time during your summer break. We will help you determine which center is the best fit to reach your goals and ensure you have the positive learning experience you are looking for over the summer. Student Ambassadors: Our Student Ambassador Program is our on–campus representative. You will help us identify opportunities for Heart + Paw to interact with your fellow students and assist with coordination of events. As a Heart + Paw Student Ambassador, you will be provided with special leadership opportunities, swag, resume review and mock interviews, career advice, and an annual financial scholarship.
