What You'll Learn Externs work closely with experienced veterinarians and veterinary teams to gain exposure to: Physical examinations and patient assessments Client communication and case discussions Diagnostic planning and interpretation Treatment planning and case management In-house laboratory procedures Surgical and dental procedures Medical record documentation Time management and workflow efficiency Team collaboration and professional communication Learning opportunities vary based on your year in veterinary school, clinical experience, and the needs of the host hospital.
