This role plays an important part in creating safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experiences for residents and visitors during concerts, festivals, and neighborhood gatherings. Work is completed under general supervision and may include evening or weekend shifts to ensure events run smoothly and the community can enjoy City-sponsored activities whenever they occur. - Acts as City's on-site representative before, during and after events; - Performs tasks at City locations and venues in support of programs, performances and events; - Assists event and production staff; - Assists with coordination of event set-ups and take-downs; - Assists with coordination of on-site contract labor personnel; - Assists with coordination of and supports the services of vendors and contractors working for the City; - Sets up tables and chairs; - Sets and moves barricades and fencing; - Performs general maintenance activities; - Unlocks and locks facilities; - Stocks and restocks bathroom, cleaning, and other supplies; - Removes, and returns equipment, chairs, and barricades to storage areas; - Assists with loading and unloading material; - Maintains chairs, tables, barricades and equipment; - Directs issues and situations relating to events and programs to the attention of supervisor; - Directs questions from event and production staff to supervisor - Operates or demonstrates operation of facility equipment; - Operates and resets electrical breaker and electrical systems; - Perform minor maintenance and repair activities; - Assists with clean-up of events including trash removal and chair and table collection and storage; - Assists with cleanup and maintenance of the property, interior and exterior; - Assists with cleanup and maintenance of garbage cans and other equipment; - Responsible for working independently on event set up and breakdown, as needed. Related tasks: - Completes reports, checklists, and other paperwork; - Uses cell phone and radio to coordinate activities; - Prepares work orders for facility repair and maintenance; - Hangs banners, posters, and decorations; - Ensures that City requirements are met; - Performs related tasks as required. Knowledge of: - Principles of customer service and public interaction. - Event setup and teardown procedures. Skilled in: - Function effectively in a fast-paced work environment. - Follow written and oral directions. Ability to: - Communicate courteously and professionally with the public. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. - Maintain a friendly, helpful, service-oriented attitude. - Recognize potential safety hazards and follow established safety procedures. - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Possession of valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period.
