Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dishroom and equipment clean and organized. **Essential Job Functions** - Load, run, and unload dish machine. - Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately. - Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle. - Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware. - Keep dishroom clean and organized. - Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen. - Bag and haul dishroom trash and recycling to dumpster at designed times. - Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss. - Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies. - Clean food preparation and production areas as required. - Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Dining Services Management Team. Other Job Functions **Job Requirements** - Develops and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to exceed the needs of the residents. - Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department. - Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Dining Services management team. - Attends and participates in annual in-service training programs. | Safety and Sanitation | | --- | | Washes pots and dishes, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures. | | Follows safety regulations and precautions at all times. | | Follows established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks and follow proper hand washing procedure. | | Ensures that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained. | | Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor immediately. | | Reports all accidents and incidents to your supervisor on the shift in which they occur. | | Assists in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times. | | Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies. | | Reports missing or illegible labels or MSDSs to your supervisor. | **Expectations of the Position** - Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation. - Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management. - Have reliable transportation to and from work. - Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly,” hospitality-oriented, and service-oriented dem…
