**We are looking for a part time, on-call truck driver to join our team! This person will fill in on an as-needed basis.** Bedford Transportation maintains a small fleet which hauls Bedford Industries product on a variety of routes. Our drivers operate well maintained late model freightliners with 53 foot dry vans and roll-up doors. We are looking for a safe, courteous driver with a flexible schedule to fill in on some shorter local runs (primarily on Fridays), and to be able to go over the road on multi-drop runs when our full time drivers are on vacation. (4-6 weeks per year) Ideal candidate would have OTR experience. \*Have a valid CDL \*Have a safe driving record \*Must be at least 21 years old \*Must pass DOT drug test and DOT physical \*Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally \*Meet all department of transportation requirements \*Have knowledge of shipping documents \*Have knowledge of federal motor carriers safety regulations \*Have the ability to climb in and out of tractors/trailers safely \*Be able to secure loads with straps, load locks, and doors \*Be able to spot trailers at load docks (properly raising and lowing landing gear) \*Be able to sit for extended periods of time \*Be able to perform duties in temperature extremes \*Present a neat and clean appearance at all times \*Be able to operate loading equipment \*Maintain driver's logs as required by federal motor carriers regulations
