**Tree Care Student Employment** **Salary:** $15.00 **I. Position Purpose** The purpose of the Tree Care Student Employee position is to support the Tree Care/Forestry Manager in maintaining the health, safety, and overall management of trees on the Hocking College campus. This role provides students with hands-on experience in arboriculture and forestry practices while assisting with tree maintenance activities such as pruning, tree removal, plant health care treatments, and pest management. The position also helps ensure campus landscapes are properly maintained and that trees are managed in a safe and sustainable manner. **II. Duties and Responsibilities** • Assist with pruning, trimming, and removal of campus trees • Support plant health care treatments including herbicide and pesticide applications • Help inspect trees for health, safety hazards, and pest issues • Operate and assist with tree care and forestry equipment under supervision • Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after operations • Assist with general grounds and forestry maintenance tasks as assigned **III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills** • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student. • Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical outdoor work • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and temperatures • Enrolled in or completed a Timber Harvesting or Tree Care course • Demonstrated competencies through coursework in Tree Care or Timber Harvesting • CSAW Level I certification required • Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College. *Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).*
