**POSITION OVERVIEW**: Coordinates movement of freight in a timely, safe and cost-effective manner. Tracks freight movement and updates Transportation Management system as well as all other pertinent contacts to reflect movement of freight. Ensures Route Optimization through use of TM system but knowledgeable enough to amend routes through manual intervention. Communicates with all pertinent contacts relative to the status of freight movement and issues. Proactively reacts to transportation issues that occur. Resolves all transportation issues with contacts and provides feedback to Independent Service Providers (ISPs) when failures occur. Familiarizes new owner operators on processes and paperwork as well as onboard computer operation. Ensures ISPs are following DOT regulations including hours of service regulations and provides feedback to ISPs when failures occur. Ensures ISPs follow all safety regulations. Works with the safety department to ensure all o/o paperwork is up to date. Ensures safe and secure cross boarder deliveries to adhere to both United States and Canadian laws, where applicable. Coordinates movement of overflow freight, communicates ISP route changes, oversight and compliance to cold chain requirements. **MINIMUM** **QUALIFICATIONS:** - Bachelor’s degree preferred in transportation management, logistics, distribution or related field. - 6+ years progressive related experience **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND** **ABILITIES** - Coordinates with ISPs and dispatches to ensure timely and safe movement of freight. Coordinates delivery of overflow freight based on customer data. Resolves any transportation problems for the customer. Communicate with ISP to make sure they will be able to meet window times for pick-up and deliveries. Representative is responsible for developing/implementing a plan to meet customer requirements if driver will not be able to meet window times. Works with other Transportation Reps to ensure all loads are covered for the customer. Maintains computer records of all daily load activities and service percentage, and delay times. Updates all pertinent contacts with freight movement and communicates with them regarding freight delays and failures. Monitors temperatures of trailers when applicable. Responsible for maintaining regular communication with ISPs. - Analyzes freight flow information and makes recommendations for improvements to routes as appropriate. Works with Analyst group to implement appropriate route changes and analyzes route optimization, insuring service and revenues are maximized. - Works with ISP to make sure they are following all DOT regulations and maintaining regulatorily required logs and records. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Bachelor’s degree preferred in transportation management, logistics, distribution or related field. - 6+ years progressive related experience - Knowledge of transportation management systems. - Good analytical skills. - Good planning and organizational skills. - Good communication skills. - Knowledge of DOT regulations This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
