Priority will be given to candidates who submit their application ***on or before Sunday, August 2nd, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time***. **Join the City of Medford as our next Transportation Manager and help guide the future of our community’s transportation system.** **This role is a great opportunity for an experienced transportation engineering professional who enjoys a mix of leadership, technical review, planning, and problem solving. The Transportation Manager oversees the City’s Traffic Engineering Section and plays an important role in transportation planning, signal operations, development review, traffic safety, and long-range system improvements.** **The selected candidate will work closely with City staff, regional partners, consultants, developers, contractors, and community members on projects that directly impact mobility, safety, and quality of life in Medford. With the City beginning a major update to its Transportation System Plan, this is an exciting time to bring your expertise, leadership, and vision to the Public Works team.** **If you are a collaborative leader with strong transportation engineering experience and an Oregon Professional Engineer license, we invite you to apply!** **Required Education and Experience****:** - High school diploma or GED equivalent; and - Five (5) years of progressive experience in transportation engineering or transportation planning with two (2) of those years in a supervisory or leadership position. - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, transportation planning, or other specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of experience. **Required Licenses:** - Valid, current Driver’s License and safe driving record - Oregon Professional Engineer License **Preferred Qualifications:** - Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Certification **Available Schedules:****** - 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday - Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first 90-days: - 9-80 (nine-hour workdays with a three-day weekend every other week) - Teleworking up to 1 day per week This position is part of the **Non-Represented** employee group. The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps. **Healthcare Benefits****:** - Medical, vision and dental benefits for employee and family, paid at 100% by the City with the opportunity to buy-up to a lower deductible plan - Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance – policy value of $50,000 paid by the City - Long-term disability insurance provided by the City - Health Reimbursement Account (HRA-VEBA) contributions provided by the City **Retirement Benefits****:** - Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) lifetime pension after retirement at no cost to employee - PERS is 100% fully paid as the City pays both the employer and the employee’s (6%) contributions - Deferred Compensation retirement plan (Section 457 Plan) for employee's retirement planning **Additional Benefits****:** - Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - The City’s Wellness Program promotes physical, social, emotional, intellectual, financial and environmental wellness with various goals and challenges to participate in throughout the year.
