The training specialist works as a member of the site management team. Primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of staff training and design student training for the program for which this position is responsible. The Training Specialist reports to the Program Director. In some instances, may directly supervise other training staff. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** 1. Schedules, oversees and provides opportunities for required annual and continued staff training necessary for compliance with licensing regulations, ROP standards and for the site(s) for which this position is responsible. Oversees New Hire Orientation Training, Annual Recertification Training, Essential Subjects, and On The Job Training. 2. Identifies employees on correction/improvement plans and provides the additional training necessary to ensure the employees successfully complete the improvement plan. 3. Coordinates training requirements with all departments and provides training classes for employees on all shifts. Schedules training after hours and on weekends if necessary to ensure all training requirements are met. 4. Conducts student training as directed and required. 5. Develops, refines and conducts specific training topics as directed and required. 6. Determines subject matter experts at each ROP site for which the position is responsible and schedules these individuals to provide training of staff and students. 7. Prepares and maintains annual and monthly training schedules for the program for which the position is responsible. 8. Compiles, logs, files, and submits treatment and training documentation for the monthly Key Performance Indicators. 9. Maintains staff training documentation and ensures staff meets the minimum training requirements as prescribed by ROP policy and licensing requirements. 10. Monitors the training materials, e.g., orientation and technical manuals, to ensure all policies included are current and accurate and within the site licensing requirements. 11. Revises, updates and maintains training materials as required. 12. Ensures all aspects of the Positive Operational Culture are preserved from a training standpoint. 13. Assists with hiring, evaluations, commendations, reprimands and dismissals regarding supervised staff, if applicable. 14. Reviews and approves time and attendance for supervised staff, if applicable. 15. Assists with developing supervised staff by conducting training sessions and action plans, if applicable. 16. Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, provides management with required reports and advises of any problematic situations. 17. Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks. 18. Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and procedures. 19. Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts. 20. Attends and participates in all required meetings. 21. Commits to attending and tracking all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of training for this position and all supervised staff are completed on an annual basis. Notifies the supervisor if annual training hours are deficient. 22. Ensures the safety, health and welfare of staff and students at all times. 23. Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to staff and students when needed. 24. Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise. 25. Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students. 26. Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontations. 27. Ensures proper safe physical management techniques are followed at all times. 28. Assists other staff members with emergency situations. 29.
