Training Instructor FPS - National Capital Region (N VA, MD and DC)

**Position Summary** The Training Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum-based instruction to contract security personnel assigned to Federal Protective Service (FPS) locations. This role includes conducting a wide range of security-related training and analyzing training data to support training needs assessments and recommendations. Training topics include, but are not limited to: - Basic and Refresher Core Officer Training - CPR/First Aid/AED - Defensive Tactics - Handcuffing - Expandable Baton - OC Spray - Firearms Instruction - National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDT) modules **Required Certifications and Experience** **Mandatory Certifications** Candidates must present valid instructor‑level certifications in the following: - **Firearms Instructor** Must have completed an accredited Firearms Instructor course (e.g., NRA, Police Academy, state POST Academy, FLETC, or military equivalent) resulting in instructor certification. **Minimum Experience Requirements** - At least **two years of demonstrated experience** in law enforcement or security methodologies. - At least **two years of documented instructor experience**. - Must meet **Protective Security Officer** qualification standards. - Proficiency in developing documents using **Microsoft Office** applications. **Preferred Instructor Certifications** Instructor credentials in the following areas are highly preferred: - **First Aid/CPR/AED** Instructor certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. - **Expandable Baton** Instructor certification from an approved program (e.g., ASP, Monadnock, Police Academy, state POST Academy, FLETC, or military equivalent). - **OC Spray** Instructor certification from an approved program (same approved sources as above). - **Defensive Tactics** Instructor certification from an approved program (same approved sources as above). - **NWDTP Instructor (National Weapons Detection Training Program)** Must hold current NWDTP instructor credentials. **Education** - **Required:** High School Diploma or GED - **Preferred:** Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Security Administration, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field **Additional Requirements** - Must pass a medical exam and drug screening - Must be a U.S. Citizen - Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly - Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends *Golden SVCS, LLC is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a contractor to the Federal Protective Services.
