# 🔨 NOW HIRING: Trades Helper **📍 Location:** HELSTF **💲 Starting Wage:** **$17.99/hour** **🗓 Schedule:** Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM- 4:30 PM & **Every Other Friday** 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Are you looking to build your career in the skilled trades? If you're dependable, eager to learn, and enjoy working with your hands, we'd love to hear from you! ## What You'll Do As a Trades Helper, you'll assist skilled maintenance personnel with a variety of maintenance and repair projects throughout the facility. Responsibilities include: - Assist with painting structures and equipment - Support concrete repairs, including floors, steps, and sidewalks - Help with general carpentry projects - Replace damaged floor tiles, ceiling tiles, and wall paneling - Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound - Assist with equipment and machinery maintenance - Help install sheetrock, including taping and texturing - Scrub and wax floors - Move furniture and equipment as needed - Assist with installing PVC, copper, and black pipe - Perform general housekeeping and facility maintenance duties ## What We're Looking For ### Minimum Qualifications **Education** - High School Diploma or GED **Experience** - Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a skilled trade such as: - Automotive - Carpentry - Electrical - HVAC - Painting **Requirements** - Valid Driver's License - Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance - Ability to obtain a Government Operator's License - Ability to read blueprints and freehand sketches - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong communication skills and flexibility ## Background Checks Required Employment is contingent upon successfully completing: - General Background Check - Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) - Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusions Check - Office of Personnel Management (OPM)/Federal Investigative Services Security Clearance ## Why Join Our Team?
