Position Summary With no supervision can operate all necessary tool room equipment for the purpose of making or reworking dies and tooling for headers or secondary equipment. Possesses the ability to perform mathematical calculations for complex tool and die making. Can perform preventative maintenance and repair on tool room equipment as needed to maximize efficiencies. Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Ability to operate all tool room equipment with no supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements Ability to read all manufacturing and tooling prints and select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances Utilizes all tool room gaging equipment Performs mathematic calculations for upsets, reductions, angles, radii, etc. Familiarity in using software system to use the M1 system Maintains cleanliness of work area Follows company safety guidelines Performs preventative maintenance when required Trains less experienced employees Perform cycle counts and support annual physical inventory Qualifications-Education/Experience Required: Ability to complete Job Skill Training Matrix for a Tool & Die Technician Strong human relations skills Strong troubleshooting skills Fluent in English (both strong verbal and written communication skills) Knowledge of heading equipment and operations, All tool room equipment (lathes, presses, bench grinders, tool bit grinders, reamer grinders, cut-off saws, surface grinders, OD & ID grinders, hones, mills, and EDM equipment Knowledge of inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, gage pins, bore gages and indicators) Preferred: Prior experience in a manufacturing plant environment as a tool and die maker, preferably within the aerospace industry Travel Requirements 0%
