## Description Sun - Wed 7am - 5:30pm **POSITION SUMMARY** The Therapist is a member of the CIC team and will provide immediate, short-term behavioral health assessment, intervention, and stabilization services to individuals experiencing acute psychological crises. This role involves rapid evaluation of risk, development of safety plans, crisis counseling, coordination of care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure client safety and continuity of services. If there are periods when your primary responsibilities are limited, you may be asked to assist in other areas as needed to support overall operations, regardless of your specific role. This position requires staff to work some holidays and will be rotated among the disciplines. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** - Develop a working partnership with each person served, which reflects the person’s wants and needs as they relate to current and past trauma and crisis situations. - In partnership with each person served; develop, implement, monitor, and continually evaluate the treatment plan. As the primary clinician, you will coordinate wrap-around services provided to person served - Participate as part of an integrated treatment team collaborating with the person served, family members, or others they want involved in their treatment and other treatment team members (internal and external) to help support the individual in their treatment plan goals to work towards recovery and crisis resolution. - Conduct daily assessments of person served mental health status around current crisis to determine appropriate level of care to justify continued stay at the CIC (i.e.- daily assessments, safety plans, progress note, etc.) - Assist with clinical oversight of person served care and treatment process. - Provides education, supportive counseling, problem solving, role modeling, referral, advocacy and experimental practice in natural settings. - Demonstrates knowledge of program protocols and behavior management in carrying out suicide precautions, detox protocol and general treatment models as identified. - Respond to crisis situations in a calm & non-reactive manner. Demonstrate effective verbal de-escalation and restraint techniques per agency policy and training at the direction of treatment team. - Interacts with emergency personnel such as police, rescue, fire, and the agency Security team to facilitate emergency service needs while protecting persons served confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws. - Provide care coordination with other treaters, natural resources, family and significant others to the extent possible in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the treatment plan. - Advocate for/with persons served in the community and mental health system, to access resources, emphasizing the utilization of naturally occurring resources. This involves making appropriate referrals for evaluation to medical services and assisting them in obtaining needed resources. - Continually assist persons served in learning about their illness and how to manage and/or cope with symptoms and strategies to help decrease symptomology using a strengths-based approach. - Facilitate groups daily with focus on utilizing resources, symptoms management, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, Crisis Intervention, CBT, DBT, etc., and providing materials that the person served can access on their own after crisis resolution. - Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches and maintain a therapeutic milieu while assessing triggers & precursors to symptoms and risk factors to assist person served in stabilizing their crisis episode. - Assists with admissions, discharges, appointments and transport of persons served. - Demonstrate effective communication to achieve a positive relationship internally and externally. - Establish appropriate and professional boundaries with all individuals.
