The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the U.S. The Hawaii Pacific Section is one of 17 geographic Sections of the USTA. Incorporated in 1973, the Hawaii Pacific Section embraces over 7,800 individual members and 109 organizational members in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Marianas. In addition, the Hawaii Pacific Section is further comprised of four Community Tennis Organizations: Kauai, Maui, East Hawaii & West Hawaii. We are committed to removing barriers and creating opportunities for ALL to participate. ## **The Role** Primary Responsibilities: - Provide tennis instruction for the Play and Learn program. - Mobile teaching professional at more than one park site. - Conduct tennis lessons based on the schedule provided by the Community Tennis Director Essential Duties: - Have the ability to teach all ages and abilities - Provide private, semi-private, and group tennis lessons. - Facilitate instruction in a positive and safe environment - Be properly groomed and dressed. - Conduct lessons in a professional and customer service-oriented manner - Daily communication with staff and frequent communication with the Executive Director and Director of Community Tennis. Other Duties: - Handle communications with students to include rainouts, cancellations, and other questions they may have. - Have the ability to maintain, retain and grow the student base. - Attend training for professional development. - Do not teach on public tennis courts without a permit. ## **Who You Are** - High School degree required, and college preferred. - Proficient computer skills required - Proficiency in Microsoft Office required - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to play tennis at an NTRP level of 4.5 or higher. - Ability to teach group tennis lessons outdoors. - Preferred USTA Coaching, RSPA or PTR certified tennis instructor at a Development Coach level or higher - Transportation is required, and you must be willing to travel to different locations. - Requires contacts and good rapport with the community. **What We Offer** *At the USTA, we know people are our most important asset.
