**Temporary Armed Protection Officer** **Pay:** $59.00/hour **Schedule: 32 hours/week, Swing shift** **This is a temporary position, the anticipated end date is to be determined.** On-Site Role **Travel required:** Travel on an occasional basis with some overnight stays. Must have reliable transportation and be available for unplanned travel. **Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Armed Protection Officer for their Healthcare Security Client in Northern and Southern California.** **JOB SUMMARY:** As part of the Regional Security Services team, the Armed Protection Officer (APO) is responsible for the physical and personal security for members, staff, and visitors within the health care client facilities. This includes responding to emergency situations, preserving order, and enforcing regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises. Protects staff and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards and interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace. To learn more visit our website: Armed Protection Officer Program Recruitment Page (bci-toolkit.com) **Facility Safety & Incident Response** - Respond to crimes in progress and take appropriate action on the exterior of the healthcare facility - Make private person arrests when necessary and within policy - Respond into healthcare facility interior for Code Gray responses - Lead de-escalation efforts - Provide a professional security presence - Act as a safety ambassador for the facility - Provide campus safety recommendations - Liaison with administrative and clinical leadership - Establish and maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement **Prevention of Workplace Violence (PWV)** - Serve as the facility subject matter expert on the Prevention of Workplace Violence - Respond to violent incidents of workplace violence - Stay current on training and trends in the PWV field **Threat Management** - Lead and support threat management investigations - Mitigate potential threats through collaboration with key stakeholders and the Threat Management Team **Training** - Provide Prevention of Workplace Violence training to staff - Train and evaluate new officers **Required Skills** - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated success working in a highly regulated work environment - Must be able to accurately analyze situations in a highly complex organizational structure and reach appropriate decisions based on informed judgment - Must be highly organized and detail-oriented - Must effectively manage subordinates - Strong interpersonal skills - Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information - Demonstrated ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources in a fast-paced environment - Demonstrated ability to follow through, meet deadlines, anticipate requirements, and build relationships with minimal oversight - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and employ strong reasoning skills - Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision - Demonstrated comfort level with internal systems or demonstrated ability to learn new systems - Excellent time management and organization skills - PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint - Must present as approachable, open, professional, and positive - Must be willing to travel on short notice and during non-standard working hours **Required Experience** **Candidates must possess prior experience in law enforcement or military law enforcement.
