Telecommunication Systems Designer 1

## Description **BASIC FUNCTION:** Assist in the planning, drafting, surveying, and inspection of Telecommunication systems projects. **REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. Review engineering data, designs, plans, and splice documents to develop computer-aided drawings and maps of physical features. 2. Use survey equipment to gather and compile field information and inspect construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved plans and specifications. 3. Prepare detailed drawings, maps, and supporting documentation for electric and telecommunication systems distribution facilities. 4. Monitor work in progress and prepare and process partial payment requests. 5. Operate a variety of equipment, including computers, peripherals, and engineering software such as ESRI ArcMap, AutoCAD, and CrescentLink, as well as plotters, copiers, and other related office equipment. ## Requirements **EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:** - Associate degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. One to two years of related experience or training is preferred. - Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and equipment used to prepare engineering drawings and specifications for construction projects preferred. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, and CrescentLink. - Experience with the design, construction, or deployment of fiber-optic networks, fiber-to-the-home networks, or other telecommunications networks is preferred. **OTHER:** - Ability to read and interpret technical documents; write reports and correspondence. - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills. - Strong organizational skills and decision-making ability. - Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations. - Possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License and meet the requirements of Conway Corporation’s insurance provider. - Ability to work non-standard hours as necessary. - Ability to work in outside weather conditions of all types when required. - Must live within a 30-minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway in case of an emergency or trouble.
